Help with ideas for dog feeding station/area?

Question by longhorn08: Help with ideas for dog feeding station/area?
We have two dogs and are looking for a better way to set up a “feeding station” for them. They are both medium/large dogs and keep making a HUGE mess every time they eat in the kitchen. We currently have two feeding bowls/two water bowls set up in the kitchen with a large towel underneath. But they keep getting food bits and water everywhere! Any suggestions as to another set up we can try?? Thanks!
I should mention that it will be hard to feed them outside in the winter – we live very far up north where the temp gets really low and the snow fall is high. We’d prefer to keep them inside for feeding time. Thanks!

    try BIG bowls

you can buy feeding stands, from argos, and they stop food and water from going everywhere.

they have them in all different sizes, for different sized dogs

train them to eat better or don’t put them together when they eat okay

hello longhorn08! my sisters boxer has the same problem!!! u should probably get a dog bowl stand that raises the bowl of the floor. that’s what my sis did and that seemed 2 help a little. and u should get a small rug instead of towels, bcuz the rug won’t lift up as much and get as much food under it as the towels. i hope i helped!!

Try in the backyard by the door.

Take a look at this.. of course there are other designs.
    Just google raised bowls.
They are also adjustable to fit your dogs height and you can
get them in all sorts of designs and colours. Single and double.
In the day time I leave their water outside as they spend so much time out there. playing. with me of course ..not tied up or left outside.
Dogs are very messy eaters. I have one that insists on taking the food out of the bowl and eating it off the floor. I understand your plight.
Or feed them in their individual kennels .. food and mess is then contained in one place.

my dogs have never gotten over being sloppy. I just resigned myself and kept the bowls on tile instead of carpet. One would lie down to eat and flip the bowl sideways. Whatever!!!!. I tried the elevated bowls, they just pushed them up from the bottom and splashed water. Just get stainless steel bowls and if you find a solution, let us know!

If the dogs are young they are probably ”wolfing” thier food to finish up first so the other doesn’t get it… I have a few dogs and they all get fed away from one another… This lets them relax whilst eating and they tend not to make as much mess…

If the bowls you are using are full to the topthen they are probably too small…. I feed my american bulldog from a plastic washing up bowl ,

try this they are very cheap and if only the usual portion is given there is plenty of room in the bowl. most of the mess that dogs make when feeding is due to the bowls being too small and too full therefore when he dives in( like they do..lol) the fod overflows everywhere.. give it a try
    it works for me
