LARGE Dog Bowl! Set Your Dog’s Table With THIS Large Dog Bowl!
A large dog bowl is a necessity when you have a large breed dog. But all bowls are not created equal. When considering a large dog bowl remember if your dog is a puppy now you will need to buy a bowl to suit his or her size at the time. The bowl will need to be replaced as your dog grows. It is important to have the correct size bowl for a large breed dog.
Plastic bowls come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes. Plastic bowls are:
- Inexpensive for a large dog bowl choice
- Dishwasher safe
- Unbreakable if dropped
- Easily chewed and scratched
But plastic may not be the best choice for your dog. If your dog chews or scratches the plastic it leaves places for bacteria to breed. Also, some dogs are allergic to plastic which can result in a skin irritation on the chin or face.
You can also purchase a large dog bowl in ceramic. They come in a variety of styles and colors to suit your taste and are often decorated with cool designs. Ceramic bowls are:
- Easy to clean because of their glazed coating
- Easy to break
- They get cracks (Cracks can hold bacteria and cause your dog to get sick)
.
Another choice for a large dog bowl is stainless steel. Stainless steel bowls are:
- The most durable bowls you can buy
- Dishwasher safe
- Easy to clean by hand
- Practical and inexpensive
They can also be purchased with a non-skid rim on the bottom to prevent sliding as your dog enjoys his or her meal.
The only drawback (for the owner) of a stainless steel large dog bowl is that they do not usually come in different colors or designs. They are practical and inexpensive, and I don’t think your dog will miss the designs or colors. When having to purchase different sizes as your dog grows stainless steel is a great choice.
Having the wrong size bowl can cause discomfort in large breed dogs. Depending on the height of your dog you may need to look into raised dog bowls. If a large dog has to crouch down to eat it could eventually cause digestive problems and strains on your dog joints and muscles. Think about it. Would you want to stand up and have to eat your food with your head down to the floor?
We all love our pets, actually they are part of our family, so please treat them with care.
When purchasing your large dog bowl keep the above information in mind. Your pet will thank you for it.
